European Forum for Biodiversity & Farming Futures

When

3–5 March 2027

Where

Athens, Greece

EuropeanForum logo

Across Europe, knowledge, innovation and policy support for biodiverse and regenerative farming continue to grow. Yet wider adoption still faces practical, economic, market and regulatory barriers.

The European Forum for Biodiversity & Farming Futures creates a space for the people involved in that transition to work on those challenges together: sharing experience and evidence, understanding different perspectives and developing ideas that can move beyond conversation.

Capacity will be limited. Register your interest to hear first when registration opens and when the venue, programme and opportunities to contribute are announced.

An initiative of the FIREFLIES project, co-organised by Impact Hub Athens and SAE Innova, with the support of the FIREFLIES consortium.

How will the Forum unfold?

Three days. Three stages.

DAY 1UNDERSTAND
DAY 1
UNDERSTAND
DAY 1. UNDERSTAND

Get the full picture on the table.

The Forum begins with farming realities.

Farmers’ experiences will meet perspectives from research, policy, business and other parts of the system to explore who shapes the transition, where interests align or conflict, and what is holding wider adoption back.

Conversations around economic viability, markets, policy, technical barriers, knowledge gaps and the practical realities of change on farms.

DAY 2CO-CREATE
DAY 2
CO-CREATE
DAY 2. CO-CREATE

Work on what could actually help.

Attention then shifts towards possible responses.

Participants will explore farming practices, technologies, scientific knowledge, funding opportunities and existing experience, while bringing their own challenges and ideas into collaborative working sessions.

Multidisciplinary groups will develop selected ideas further, considering what they would need, who should be involved and what opportunities could help make them possible.

DAY 3MOVE FORWARD
DAY 3
MOVE FORWARD
DAY 3. MOVE FORWARD

Give the strongest ideas a next step.

The final stage is about making ideas more concrete.

Teams will share and refine emerging concepts, explore their viability and financing, identify missing partners or expertise and clarify what would be needed to continue working on them beyond the Forum.

Who is this Forum for?

Biodiverse farming involves a whole system. We want that system represented.

Bring farming realities into the conversation.

Share what works, what gets in the way and what support would actually make a difference.
